Airline, no longer flying
Airlines / United States
Spirit Airlines was an airline from the United States that stopped flying in 2026. Its codes were NK (IATA) and NKS (ICAO), and its radio callsign was “SPIRIT WINGS”.
What the codes mean
The two-character IATA code is the one on tickets, boarding passes and flight numbers (NK 123). The three-letter ICAO code is used in flight plans and by air traffic control. The radio callsign is what pilots and controllers say on the radio: a flight filed as NKS123 is called “SPIRIT WINGS one two three”.
