Airline, no longer flying
Airlines / Russia
Saratov Airlines was an airline from Russia that stopped flying in 2018. Its codes were 6W (IATA) and SOV (ICAO), and its radio callsign was “SARATOV AIR”.
What the codes mean
The two-character IATA code is the one on tickets, boarding passes and flight numbers (6W 123). The three-letter ICAO code is used in flight plans and by air traffic control. The radio callsign is what pilots and controllers say on the radio: a flight filed as SOV123 is called “SARATOV AIR one two three”.
